FC Halifax Town: Let's finish it off - Dean
STRIKER James Dean is confident Town can cope with their enforced lay-off and hit the ground running when they eventually return to action.
Last night's game at Woodley Sports was the sixth in a row to fall to the weather.
And the Shaymen have not kicked a ball in anger since December 15 against Wakefield.
But Dean has no worries about how the team will fare once they get back to playing, even if it will be like starting the season all over again.
"I think as a team we are good enough to adjust to anything," he said.
"The more we play, the better and fitter we become.
"We are in a good position at the moment but as soon as we play our first game after this break it will be like starting from scratch.
"We know what we have to do and we are capable of winning every game."
Dean admitted he had been frustrated by the lack of action, although he revealed that the players had been working hard.
"It's been horrendous," he said. "I have never known anything like it.
"But just because we haven't been playing doesn't mean we have been doing nothing.
"We have been working on pure fitness in training."
Town could be back in action this weekend when they are scheduled to travel to Warrington, although that is dependent on the weather.
And Dean is hoping that his rich vein of form - he is Town's top goal scorer with 25 - continues.
"I have been confident in front of goal throughout the first half of the season and getting chances," he said.
"It is one of the best seasons I have ever had and the support from the rest of the team has been great.
"But it is not just about me, we have five players who have got the best part of 70 goals between them.
"That shows that anyone in the side is capable of winning games for us.
"I just want to keep on scoring and both Richard Marshall and Nicky Gray are looking sharp in training.
"We expect to score so if we don't concede we will win matches."
