Brighouse held at Colne

Brighouse Town had to settle for a point in a goalless draw away to mid-table Colne in the Evo Stik NPL's first division north yesterday.

They struggled to adapt to a sloping pitch but retained a two-point lead in the table after defeats for Bamber Bridge and Lancaster City.

Glossop North End are now their nearest pursuers after a 2-1 home win over Colwyn Bay.

Centre half James Pollard went close from long range in the second period but Brighouse had to survive late pressure from their hosts

Brighouse are at home to third-from-bottom Ossett Albion in their next outing next Saturday.

Albion picked up a first home win of the season yesterday with a 2-0 success against Radcliffe Borough.
