Brighouse Town duly made it five games unbeaten in Evo-Stik NPL Division One North with a crushing 4-1 win at New Mills.

James Hurtley set them on their way when he picked up on a loose ball in the box to fire home just before the half hour.

Hurtley then doubled his and Town’s advantage by heading home an Isaac Baldwin corner to open up a 2-0 half-time lead.

New Mills reduced the deficit just ahead of the hour through Melford Knight. However, Town restored their two goal cushion minutes later when Tom Matthews netted.

Brighouse were excellent value for their lead and completed the scoring four minutes from time when Ben Thornton slotted home.
