Neil Aspin wants to see a confident FC Halifax Town side in their FA Trophy quarter-final replay tomorrow night.

Town embark on the 440-mile round trip in buoyant mood after their 5-1 rout at Corby on Saturday and following an excellent display first time round against the Blue Square Premier outfit.

While the Halifax boss admitted that defeat at the weekend would have made for a particularly long trip to Kent, he wants his players to build on their recent performances that have seen them score nine goals in their last three matches.

He said: “Whichever team we put out on Wednesday, we have to be confident, we need to pass the ball and get the tempo up like we did last week. But if the players work as hard as they have done then I can’t ask for any more.

“Saturday was the time to make some changes but we know what the team will be on Wednesday if everyone’s fit.

“It would’ve been difficult travelling on Wednesday if we’d have had a poor performance and dropped points against Corby but everybody will turn up in good spirits on Wednesday and we’ll got into it in good shape.

“It’s difficult with the travelling arrangements when lads have got jobs and just to get to Dartford itself is not the most straightforward but we’ve got a replay and we’ve got to contend with it.”
