Neil Aspin described FC Halifax Town 2-0 victory over Alfreton as a “massive win”.
Two goals from Lee Gregory were enough to seal all three points in front of the BT Sport cameras.
The Town boss was happy with how his side performed against their fellow promotion rivals.
He said: “It’s a massive win against an Alfreton team who are in really good form themselves.
“For the first 30 minutes, I thought we were really good. We were first to every ball and started off really well.
“Then for the next 15 minutes Alfreton came more into the game.
“But the second goal was crucial and then it wasn’t until the back end of the game that we were really troubled.
“Our goalkeeper’s pulled off a couple of great saves and the defence have got blocks in and done the job you need to do if you’re going to get a clean sheet.”
Gregory took his tally to 28 goals in 31 games for the season, but Aspin said the whole team should take credit for the win, not just his star striker.
He said: “You can’t keep him out of the news at the moment, his goalscoring record is tremendous.
“The team believe in him and they know that if they can produce the chances for him then they’ve got a match-winner up there in Lee.
“He’s proving that game after game - you can’t speak more highly of him.
“But it was team performance tonight. He’s obviously put the finishing touch to it but a lot of lads have worked exceptionally hard to get us the result.”
