Chester captain George Horan said he thought Town were the best side Chester have faced ahead of their FA Cup meeting on Saturday.
Horan was involved when the two sides met early last month, with the hosts running out 2-1 winners despite being second best to Town for much of the game.
And they meet again on Saturday in an FA Cup third qualifying round clash at the Exacta Stadium.
The defender picked out Jason Jarrett, who will play his final game for Town before serving a three match ban following his dismissal at Histon last weekend, as Town’s star man and said that the Shaymen were the best side Chester had come across since the reformed.
Talking about the league meeting back in September, Horan admitted: “It was a bit smash-and-grab on our part that night.
“Hopefully we will play better and get the same result.
“Halifax were the first team to come to our place and really take the game to us. They really impressed me.”
