Town’s West Riding County Cup quarter final game against Albion Sports is set to go ahead tonight at the Horsfall Stadium.
The Shaymen were due to be in league action against neighbours Guiseley last night - but the game was called off at lunchtime due to a waterlogged pitch after days of heavy rain.
There has been little rain since though, meaning Town will get to play at least one of their mid-week fixtures.
With Town originally expecting to play two games in 24 hours, it was thought Neil Aspin would shuffle the pack for the County Cup which, by his own admission, he has not taken as seriously as he could in previous years.
But with the Guiseley game off, it could now give more first team regulars to keep up their current good run ahead of Saturday’s visit of Solihull and then Aspin’s former club Harrogate Town next Wednesday.
The Shaymen fielded a strong side in the previous round against Liversedge and ran out handsome 7-0 winners, while Albion beat Farsley and Glasshoughton Welfare to get to this stage.
