FC Halifax Town beat Guiseley 3-2 at The Shay to progress to the third qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup.

Halifax raced into a 3-0 lead, with James Sunderland scoring after just four minutes before Kelan Swales added a second before half-time and Reece Kendall looked to have put the result beyond doubt just after the hour-mark with a penalty.

But Guiseley battled back with goals from Myles Foley and Jack Lazenby to set-up a tense finish in front of 252 fans at The Shay.

Halifax will now host AFC Fylde next week.
