Corby Town 2 Halifax Town 4

Halifax Town gained revenge for their opening day defeat to Corby - and recorded a fifth successive win - with victory in Northamptonshire.

After a quiet start, the Shaymen took a 17th minute lead when the impressive Liam Needham found Lee Gregory on the right and he pulled the ball back for Danny Holland who fired home from close range.

Holland doubled the Shaymen’s lead on the stroke of half time when he got in front of the home keeper to loop a header into the net.

Lee Beeson pulled a goal back for the home side 17 minutes from the end from a tight angle.

But the Shaymen were two goals to the good again within a couple of minutes when James Dean headed home a Gregory cross.

Jason St Juste bagged the fourth six minutes from the end before Jordan Smith bagged a late consolation for the home side.
