In-form striker Lee Gregory said the Shaymen worked better as a unit than they had done previously this season in the win over Gloucester City.
Gregory followed up his goal at Hinckley United with four against a Gloucester side who simply couldn’t handle him.
Unsurprisingly the haul saw him leap to the top of Town’s top scorers chart ahead of fellow striker Dale Johnson.
And Gregory was quick to praise the efforts of his team mates.
“We played very well,” he said. “We worked more as a team today more than we have done in the past.”
Gregory was dropped to the bench for the game against Hinckley, but has scored five goals in a game and a half since then.
“The gaffer chooses who plays in each game and thankfully he picked me today and I did well. Hopefully I’ll keep my place.”
It’s not the first time has filled his boots in a single game.
“I got six in a game a few years ago, and I’m very pleased to have got four today.”
Neil Aspin was also quick to praise Gregory, adding: “I thought Lee Gregory was excellent.”
“I had a few words with him this week because I believe he has the potential to score a lot of goals.
“His performance was excellent - he was more involved, his movement was better, he worked harder, his touch was better and the goals are a bonus which will be good for his confidence.”
