Man of the Match

Difficult to choose between the two full-backs, although to me Kev Roberts just shaded it. Both covered acres of ground, and got forward at every opportunity. Their performances led to a flowing first half hour for Town.

Moan of the Match

Not substituting Jordan Sinnott when he appeared to be worn out. Last ten minutes, he lost possession far too regularly. Also, the style of much of the football on show is unsettling many people, even though we are winning. I’ll leave the referee’s performance to the others!

Moment of the Match

Andy Owens attempt to back into Hone on about 35 minutes. Hone just stepped aside, leaving Owens to fall on his backside, and then have the cheek to appeal for a foul.

Man of the Match

Kevin Roberts. Another solid and disciplined performance from the versatile full back.

Moan of the Match

The performance of the referee who made some barmy decisions and for many decisions, wrong for both sides.

Moment of the Match

Rob Brown

Rob Brown

Josh Wilde with a collectors item goal in the first half giving the Shaymen the lead.

Adam Heslop

Man of the Match

Danny Hone, not only did he score the winning goal he also kept his head when provoked by a number 9, who did everything possible to convince the referee he had been either elbowed or fouled.

Moan of the Match

Unfortunately I must mention two this week. Stalybridge’s attitude to the match and the referee who was fooled by them time and time again. They looked like they had forgotten their studs as they spent more time on the floor than playing.

Moment of the Match

My usual moment of the match is the music that is played after a goal, however this didn’t happen after the first goal as my brother Joshua Heslop wasn’t watching the match and didn’t realise we’d scored.

Rob Brown

Man of the Match

Scott Garner. Good solid game. Was up and at ‘em from the start.

Moan of the Match

It’s never good when the entire crowd see the game one way and the man in charge sees it another. On the bright side, it makes for a better atmosphere and a chance to let off steam!

Moment of the Match

Just about 4pm, the referee managed to organise the start of the second half and we all knew what he was doing.
