TWO weeks after clinching the title, Town will get the Evo Stik Premier Division trophy after their game against Mickleover Sports at the Shay on Saturday.
And defender Aaron Hardy, who was part of the side that enjoyed a similar day out in the sun 12 months ago against Skelmersdale United, is looking forward to the celebrations.
“We have worked hard to get where we are and to get the league wrapped up,” he said.
“Hopefully it will be a massive crowd, a good day for the fans and the players and we can top it off with a win.
“They turned out last season and have been great for us again this year.”
The fans have certainly enjoyed the success of the past two seasons which has see the club rise from the depths of the Jim Vince era to the Conference North under Neil Aspin.
And Hardy is certain that the club’s recent successes will not stop at two promotions.
“The fans have had some bad times in recent years with the old club’s demise,” he said.
“But now they have had back to back promotions
“We have the winning mentality and that bodes well for the future.
“We want to keep moving the club forward, to kick on and try to get the club back into the Conference which would be a tremendous achievement.”
Town will be bidding for their 31st win of the season at the weekend which would edge them to within a point of a second successive century.
And Hardy is determined that they will achieve both targets by Monday’s final game of the campaign at Ossett.
“It is an astonishing statistic,” said Hardy. “And it is credit to everyone at the club, the management, the players and everyone behind the scenes.
“From day one of pre-season we have had one aim - to win the league.
“We have done that and to get 30 wins in 40 games is incredible - hopefully it will be 32 by the time we have finished.”
Fans wishing to travel to Ossett Town on the official supporters’ bus on Monday can still book their place by calling 07707 143094. The cost is £10 and transport leaves the Shay at 1pm.
