Tomorrow’s trip to North Ferriby will be the last chance for FC Halifax players to impress boss Neil Aspin ahead of the new season.

They Shaymen make the trip along the M62 hoping to round off a successful pre-season with their sixth win in seven matches.

The manager has rotated his new look squad throughout the busy schedule and says he has a team in mind for the first game at Bishops Stortford - but added that it is not too late for players to play themselves into his plans.

“I think if any player has a good performance it’s going to have an effect, the same if someone has a bad game,” he said.

“But I know what I want for this Bishops game and we have to do a bit of work on that next week.

“We’ll play the Ferriby game then we’ve got a week to work on the team and it’s quite possible that the team that plays against Ferriby will change at Stortford.

“Bishops play a certain way and it might be that we want to have a look at that - not picking a team to counter act them, because we want to play our own strengths, but it would be silly as a manager not to bare in mind what formation they’re playing as well.”
