The FA have confirmed they will be taking no further action over the brawl that took place after FC Halifax Town’s 2-2 draw with Macclesfield at The Shay on Good Friday.

Both Halifax’s Adam Smith and Macclesfield’s Andy Halls were sent-off for their parts in the melee after the final whistle, which saw most of the players and backroom staff run onto the pitch.

But after reviewing footage of the incident, The FA decided no further action was needed and deemed the red-cards handed out by referee Simon Bennett were sufficient punishments.

Halifax were involved in a similar incident after their 1-0 win over Forest Green in December which led to Town being fined £1,250, Forest Green fined of £2,000 and both clubs being warned over their future conduct.
