FC Halifax Town will secure a play-off spot if they win at Harrogate Town on Thursday (April 18, 7.45pm kick-off).
The Shaymen are comfortably in the top five at the moment, but a win at Wetherby Road would guaranteee a place in the play-offs, while also lifting them to within four points of third-placed Brackley with two games in hand.
Victory would also extend Halifax’s club record run of ten away games without defeat, which was extended after the 2-2 draw at Oxford on Tuesday while Harrogate were losing 2-0 at Solihull Moors and Brackley were losing 3-1 at home to Colwyn Bay.
Town boss Neil Aspin was satisfied with the outcome from those games, which left Town with an extra point cushion over the opponents.
He said: “The main thing is we pick up points in all the games. Because Harrogate lost on Tuesday we’ve probably gained a point on them and there’s another game gone so all in all it wasn’t a bad night.”
Harrogate have won just once in their last six games, scoring only three times, and now look unlikely to break into the top five.
Chib Chilaka is the club’s top scorer with 13 league goals but the last time he found the net in the division was against Bishop’s Stortford back on March 19.
