The Shaymen threw away a two goal lead as they were forced to settle for a draw from a game in which each team was reduced to 10 men.

Strikes from Danny Holland and Liam Hogan saw Neil Aspin’s side firmly in control after just eight minutes.

But Cameron Darkwah was sent off five minutes before he break and the home side pulled a goal back from the penalty spot in first half stoppage time through Francis Green.

The Shaymen struggled after the break and Jervaise Christie levelled matters in the 64th minute.

Halifax threw everything forward in the closing stages but were unable to find a winner even after Chris Shaw’s late red card.
