FC Halifax Town host bottom side Telford on Saturday (3.0) aiming to extend their unbeaten home start to the season.

Town have won just one of their last five games but are yet to lose at home, with only Kidderminster scoring more goals on their own patch than Halifax.

Kevin Roberts is set to deputise for the injured James Bolton, who faces a few weeks on the sidelines with a thigh injury.

But Lois Maynard is expected to recover from the knock he sustained on Tuesday.

Only Telford, Carlisle, Fulham and Blackpool are yet to win a league game outside the Premier League so far this season.

Manager Liam Watson blasted his side after their 3-2 defeat at Alfreton in midweek, branding the performance “gutless”, “cowardly” and “embarrassing”.

The former Southport boss told some of his players to find a new club after the defeat, their seventh of the campaign.

But that result came only three days after an impressive 2-2 draw with Barnet.

Striker Tony Gray and midfielder Mike Phenix both have four goals so far this term, but no side in the division has conceded more than Watson’s men.

As well as Jonathan Hedge, former Town midfielder Sean Clancy is also among the ranks at Telford.

A win could see Town move back to the top of the table, while Telford will remain bottom of the league whatever the result.

Telford’s last visit to the Shay was back in 2003 when Christian Lee scored for the Shaymen in a 1-1 draw.
