Droylsden 2 Halifax Town 1
Town were denied a share of the spoils by a contentious refereeing decision at the Butchers Arms Ground.
The Shaymen looked lively in the opening stages with James Marwood prominent and Lee Gregory leading the line well.
The first half ended goalless, though, with Harry Winter going closest for Town and Steve Hall firing wide when well placed for the home side.
Droylsden broke the deadlock after 57 minutes when Danny Rowe squared the ball for Dan Gardner to drill home from the edge of the area.
GBut Town levelled when Ryan Toulson crossed from the right for Gregory to head home.
Droylsden were back in front for good after 72 minutes when Gardner got his second from the penalty spot after Tom Baker had been judged, harshly in most people’s eyes, to have handled in the area.
