FC Halifax Town host Preston North End at the Shay on Wednesday (7.45pm kick-off) aiming to extend their 100 per cent record in pre-season.

The Shaymen have beaten Tadcaster, Barnsley, Rochdale and Harrogate Town so far, scoring 11 goals and conceding just two.

While Halifax were busy beating Harrogate 2-1 on Saturday, Preston hosted a Liverpool side featuring Phillipe Coutinho, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini.

Preston’s summer signings include Kyel Reid from Bradford, Calum Woods from Huddersfield and striker Paul Gallagher on loan from Leicester.

Manager Simon Grayson guided Preston to fifth in League One last season but lost out to Rotherham in the play-off semi-finals.

Town’s Josh Wilson and Kevin Roberts both missed the Harrogate game through injury, while Richard Peniket was forced off at half-time.

Scott Boden, who was a second half substitute at Wetherby Road, could be handed a start and, with it, a chance to add to his four goals from four games from pre-season so far.
