Neil Aspin says his players did the club proud after FC Halifax Town clinched their second trophy in three days by lifting the West Riding County Cup.
Town beat Guiseley 1-0 in the final at Valley Parade, with Gareth Seddon notching the winner in extra-time.
Aspin admitted his team selection was up in the air until shortly before kick-off but said his side got the win they deserved to wrap up their season.
He said: “I can honestly say when I turned up tonight I had no idea what team I was going to pick because I didn’t know who would be in a fit state.
“It wasn’t being unprofessional, it was just we hadn’t attached any importance to it.
“But the lads who went out there have done the club proud. I thought they played really well and deserved to win the game.”
