Town boss Neil Aspin took a pragmatic view of the FA Cup third round qualifying round draw after seeing his side paired with fellow Conference North sides Gainsborough Trinity or Chester away on Saturday, October 6.
Town progressed following a 6-0 victory over North West Counties League side Abbey Hey last Saturday while Chester and Gainsborough were fighting out a 1-1 draw at Northolme.
The two sides replay at Chester’s Deva Stadium on Wednesday evening where Aspin will be an interested spectator.
“When you look at the draw you have to say we have been dealt a very difficult tie,” said Aspin.
“But we cannot pick and choose the opposition, so whoever we play we have to prepare properly and go there for the win.
“I do know that we are capable of going to either ground a gaining a result. We haven’t played Gainsborough yet so I will be interested to see how they go in the replay, while we have played Chester at their place and did very well.”
