FC Halifax Town have made the best start in the club’s history after five wins from their first five games.
It has surpassed their previous best of four wins from five in Neil Aspin’s first season in 2009.
Monday’s win over Lincoln followed victories over Chester, Welling, Southport and Dover.
Only Halifax, Morecambe, Chelsea, Tottenham, Swansea and Manchester City have 100 per cent records in the top five divisions of English football.
The record set by the original club was 12 matches undefeated from the start of the season, nine of which were won, but after winning the first match at Hayes, they had draws against Slough and Southport.
Neil Aspin’s side were undefeated in their first 10 Unibond First Division matches in 2009-10, winning the first four but then drawing 3-3 at Chorley.
