Town return to Harrogate in County Cup

FC Halifax Town are back in Harrogate tonight (Tuesday, 7.45pm kick-off) in the quarter-final of the West Riding County Cup.

The Shaymen beat Harrogate Railway 1-0 in the previous round thanks to Josh Wilson’s last-minute free-kick, and now face Harrogate Town.

They edged past Bradford Park Avenue 1-0 in the previous round. but have won just once in their last four games.

Simon Weaver’s side are currently 10th in the Skrill North, with striker Liam Hardy their top scorer with six goals.

Halifax are expected to hand starts to Phil Senior, Jon Worthington and John McReady as well as loanees Tom Anderson and Reece Gray, who joined the club last week from Burnley and Rochadle respectively.

The winner will play Ossett Albion or Albion Sports in the semi-final of the competition, which Town won last year by beasting Guiseley in the final at Valley Parade.
