FC Halifax Town travel to Clitheroe on Tuesday (7.45pm kick-off) for their fourth pre-season game.

Town suffered their first defeat of pre-season on Saturday when they were beaten 2-1 by Rochdale after recording victories in their other two friendlies against Scarborough and Brighouse.

Alex Johnson, Simon Garner and James Dean have all moved between the clubs in recent years, and Town boss Neil Aspin says the match was arranged as part of Johnson’s switch to the Shay last summer.

He said: “It’s a good club and we have a good relationship with them.

“As part of taking Alex here we said we’d play in a pre-season game.

“We’ll mix the team up again and we might have a couple of triallists playing and it gives us a chance to look at people.

“It’s another chance for people to get some game time.”

Paul Moore guided Clitheroe to 8th in the Northern Premier League Division One North last season.
