Captain Danny Lowe said Town’s shut out at Hinckley United was the most satisfying result of the season.

Captain Danny Lowe said Town’s shut out at Hinckley United was the most satisfying result of the season.

The Shaymen kept their first clean sheet of the season in Leicestershire - their first in 13 consecutive league games and only their fourth in 29 league games in 2012.

But despite having to wait longer than he had hoped, Lowe said it was pleasing to registered their first of the season.

“We try to get clean sheets every game but it’s not the be all and end all,” said Lowe.

“Getting the three points is the main thing.

“I wouldn’t say the Hinckley game was our best of the season but it as a defender it was probably the most satisfying.”

The defender, who is an active user of the social network site Twitter, said that criticised aimed at Town’s back-line was something he had come to accept.

“It’s something you have to learn to deal with,” he said.

“Fans and players have got their opinions and that’s what football is all about.

“In the games we’ve played I don’t think we’ve been run ragged at the back or that teams are creating loads of chances against us.

“Nobody has had an easy ride against us or got the better of us.

“It just seems to be that every time the opposition get a half chance is goes in

On the season so far, Lowe said that he wasn’t concerned by the eight point gap that has opened up to early leaders Brackley Town and Chester.

“You would rather be closer to them but it’s a long season,” he said.

“It’s not very often that two teams who have just been promoted both win their first seven games.

“Apart from the Colwyn Bay game I would say we’ve played well in every game so far and you only have to look at last season when we put a run together after a slow start and it got us into the play-offs.

“We said after the Hinckley game that if we win a few games on the bounce then the table will look very different.”
