New FC Halifax Town midfielder Jon Worthington met a group of youngsters taking part in the Prince’s Trust Scheme.

The programme was held at the Shay after the club joined forces with the Prince’s Trust and local firm 360 Development and Consultancy limited.

The Prince’s Trust works with people between the ages of 16-25 who have struggled in their younger years or have previous convictions.

The Trust attempts to help them achieve their full potential by working with them on improving their skills and giving them a new found belief and motivation to succeed in life.

Summer signing Worthington, 29, attended to give his advice to the youngsters.

Alison Wilkinson from Consultant 360, said: “I think it’s fantastic that the football club have got involved.

“Hopefully this will help encourage other businesses to follow and try to input into the local community so we’re very excited to get things going.

“We were asked to partner with FC Halifax Town to deliver the programme and we were delighted to do it.

“We were really keen because it is the first of its kind to take place in Calderdale and as a local company we want to see it happen,” she said.
