BRIGHOUSE Town boss Paul Quinn will demand that his side stay switched on for the full 90 minutes in their Northern Counties East League Premier Division clash at Nostell Miners Welfare tomorrow.
Quinn watched Nostell play in a 3-1 home win over Lincoln Moorlands Railway on Tuesday night and with all three of their goals coming late in the game he knows his players must stay focused until the bitter end.
“I have watched them a couple of times recently and I know we are in for another very tough game,” said Quinn. “Although Lincoln had enough chances to win the game in the first half in midweek they didn’t take them and it is fair to say Nostell came back strongly at the end and fully deserved their win.
“We are going to have to make sure that we get on top of them, dominate the game and make our chances count. They also pushed Staveley all the way last Saturday, Staveley only gaining a 2-1 win with a late goal, and they are a side who are in the quarter-finals of the FA Vase.
“Any team who can give a side who are playing to that standard a game have to be respected. They are also at home again which will give them that extra incentive to do well.”
Brighouse have the advantage of some real momentum with last weekend’s stunning 4-0 victory over then leaders Retford United making it five unbeaten in all competitions for the St Giles Road outfit.
And Quinn is keen for that momentum to continue as Brighouse pursue their ambitions of chasing down the leading pack.
“It is important that we keep the momentum and the consistency going,” added Quinn.
“We have to make sure we follow up last Saturday’s victory over Retford with another positive result if we are to continue making progress.
“The recent good run has given the players confidence and they know they cannot become complacent.
“They know tomorrow’s game will be difficult and we will have to go there and approach it in a professional manner.”
Quinn has reported no fresh injury problems and with nobody suspended Brighouse will travel to Nostell with a full-strength squad.
