January manager of the month picks his winning team from central Europe
The Premier League has a global appeal these days and the Courier Readers Fantasy Football League is clearly no different judging by our latest manager of the month.
Domen Petelin, a Liverpool fan from Slovenia, took this month's 30 prize after experiencing the same upturn in form enjoyed by his beloved Reds.
But his win was largely down to the talisman of Liverpool's arch rivals Manchester United, as a 32-point haul from Wayne Rooney in Gameweek 22 translated to 64 points for Domen, who had made him captain.
The rest of Domen's 302-point monthly total was built from solid, consistent scoring throughout his squad, with Michael Ballack, Gabriel Agbonlahor, Thomas Vermaelen and Patrice Evra performing particularly well.
Domen took the prize by 15 points from Philip Craig in second, with Tony Jones a further three points back in third.
The February race is already underway, with Dan Lynch and Ross Hallam setting the pace on 81. But with only one week of the month gone and only 20 points separating the top 50, the prize is all to play for.
