Ryburn United, narrowly beaten in last year’s final, will be looking to go one better in the competition this time round.
They travel to first division side Northowram and face a tricky tie against the ‘Rams’ who have taken some big scalps in the cups in recent seasons.
They are in fine form at the moment having won their last three league games and gave top flight AFC Crossleys a scare in the Challenge Cup before bowing out.
The famous sloping pitch at Northowram is difficult to master and the hosts are sure to use it to their advantage.
Ryburn, however, are a big side and could be hard to contain going down the slope.
Holders Ovenden West Riding host West Yorkshire League side Brighouse OB. This promises to be a cracking tie with both sides in great form.
Greetland take on AFC Crossleys. The pair finished all square last Saturday in a league game at the same venue and tomorrow’s clash looks likely to be just as close.
Another all-Premier Division clash sees Shelf United hosting the in-form Stump Cross. Shelf have yet to win this season whilst Stump have only lost once.
Copley United have a tough task with a trip to Brighouse Town. Copley are a fine attacking side and in Garry Ash and Lee Worrall have strikers that could well give Brighouse plenty to think about.
Another inter-league clash has Huddersfield Amateurs hosting Stainland United. A miserable start to the season for Stainland ended last week with a good win over Holmfield. This should have lifted spirits and see them travel in confident mood.
The Amateurs, semi-finalists last season, will be hoping to get back to winning ways after last week’s first reversal of the season at Ealandians in the Terry Marflitt Trophy.
Midfielder Nathan Hudson picked up an injury in that game so Ben Manning goes into a midfield role and Sam Frankland resumes his partnership up front with Mark Heppenstall after being unavailable last weekend.
Jacob Travis comes into the senior team squad for the first time after some impressive performances for the reserve side.
Goalkeeper Ben Orchard and last week’s man of the match Leon Severn play against their old teammates and both will be trying to impress.
Holmfield will be looking to bounce back from last week’s defeat when they visit the joint leaders of the second division, Wadsworth United. This may not prove to be the easiest of games for Holmfield.
Elland United ended Ryburn United’s unbeaten record last Saturday and could be approaching their best form. They travel to Halifax Athletic and should not have too many problems making the second round draw.
Warley Rangers host Frog AFC about whom little is known, but they seem unlikely to upset Warley.
Potential banana skins await two top flight sides when Hebden Royd Red Star travel to the division lower Salem and Sowerby United host second division joint leaders Elland Allstars.
There is an interesting clash at Sowerby Bridge where Ealandians are the visitors. Both sides have started their seasons well and it promises to be a close game.
Midgley United are looking a much stronger side than the one that lost their top flight status last season and could be dark horses. They host newcomers Junction Inn and should not have any problems winning.
Spring Hall Celtic have been making a big impression in their debut season but may find West Riding County Amateur League side Halifax Irish Club a different class to what they have met so far.
Mixenden United have home advantage against Halifax Irish Centre and that could tip things their way in the game at Natty Lane.
