Champions Carrington were leading 4-3 when the referee called a halt.

Carrington took an early 2-0 lead through Jay Carney and Damien Randall at Trinity Academy.

Hammers swept in front through Callum Charlton, Terriq Pervez’s 25 yarder and Ikhlak Ahmed.

Carney levelled in the second half and Randall had given Carrington the lead before play was stopped.

League leaders Waiters Arms thrashed bottom-side Top Club 6-1 and are now three points clear at the top.

Feathers won 3-1 at Queens Head, while Barge FC beat Mount Tabor 3-2.

In Division One, Old Pond manager Richard Dawson was delighted with his side’s 5-3 victory against league leaders King Cross Park who had maximum points on the board prior to their visit to Lane Head.

The Hove Edge side’s boss lauded an incredibly hard working performance against a very good opponent. As expected Park started strongly with Stephen Croft particularly lively out wide, but it was Pond who created the first chance; Sean Suttle firing a good shot goal-ward.

The home side crafted the opener on six minutes with the now deadly combination of Michael Barlow to Paul Taylor culminating in a difficult headed chance being converted by the latter.

A frantic goal-mouth scramble almost saw Pond double their advantage, but the ball was somehow cleared after some fine last gasp Park defending on the back of which the visitors drew level.

Croft’s good start to the game was rewarded as he levelled with a strong finish.

A moment of magic out wide from Dave Lawrence, who produced a bamboozling piece of skill, saw Pond reaffirm their lead on 41 minutes. The full-back utilised the space he had made by feeding Barlow, he laid off to Hayden Lewis who fed Taylor for his second.

There was still time for a key third to be netted before the interval; Lewis made a barnstorming right wing run, crossed to Barlow who rifled home from a tight angle.

The second half saw the visitors come back strongly as their deserved league position would suggest. Yashar Jalali made it 3-2 as he powerfully finished, before chances were missed at both ends. Taylor just failed to chip Park keeper Jordan Radcliffe at one end, whilst at the other Tom Pierson fired just wide and Jalali struck the crossbar.

The Pond rear-guard of keeper Kirby, plus Marshall, Lawrence, Allert and player manager Richard Dawson were holding out well but pressure told as Sam Dunkley won and converted a penalty to level things up.

Just seven minutes later and Pond were back in front however; Taylor completed his hat-trick from the spot after Steve Galloway was nudged in the penalty area.

A great advert for the league, the match could still have gone either way with both sides pushing to the end, but Pond sealed the three points and a fifth game without defeat as Taylor broke and squared for Barlow to grab his second.

Elsewhere in Division One, there were away wins for Ryburn United, 3-1, at Halifax Rangers, and Ryburn Valley, 4-0, at Beehive and Crosskeys.

Halifax Hammers Reserves drew 3-3 at home to Lee Mount.

Bridge FC kept up their fine upsurge in form as they made it three wins on the spin with a 5-3 defeat of Bradshaw at Natty Lane in Division Two.

Andy Warnes was the main man for Bridge in a dominant first half performance as he scored two and set up Reese Fox for the visitors’ first.

Fox produced a fine finish from distance into the top corner for the opener, before Warnes broke clear and finished calmly to make it 2-0.

The experienced midfield man doubled his own tally with an expertly executed free kick to send his side in three goals to the good at the break.

Bradshaw upped the ante and had a real go in the second period and grabbed the first goal of the half by smashing home following a throw-in into the danger area.

A second followed after a break away but Bridge managed to quell the comeback as Fox latched onto a loose ball and fired home his side’s fourth.

A deflected shot left Bridge keeper Andy Blakey helpless as the Brighouse based side’s advantage moved back to the solitary goal; and had it not been for a fine one on one save by the keeper it would have been all square.

As it was Blakey punched the ensuing corner clear and Mike Kirwan found Slater Barnes who netted to make it 5-3.

Barnes turned provider late on to seal a the victory as he fed Niall Cuttle, who laid off to Fox to craft his hat-trick goal and put the icing on the cake after a more difficult second period.

Other results in Division Two saw big home wins for Fountain Head, 5-1 against Halifax Amateurs, and Weavers, 4-0, against Halifax Ranmgers Reserves.
