Scotland up next after Nick Marsh helps England get better of Ireland in Sweden

HUDDERSFIELD’S Nick Marsh halved his singles match as England beat Ireland in the first match play stage of the European Amateur Team Championships in Sweden.

Marsh shared the honours with Jack Hume and Ireland were defeated 4.5-2.5 from the two foursomes and five singles matches.

England, who had lost both the foursomes matches but stormed back in the singles, will take on Scotland next in the semi-finals. Sweden and Denmark will contest the other last-four tie.
