Championship Shield: Eagles and Bulls are first up for Fax

Halifax will kick off their Championship Shield campaign at the Shay against Sheffield Eagles on Sunday, August 7 (3.0).

And they will follow that up with what promises to be the hardest of their seven round robin matches; the derby trip to Odsal to face Bradford on Sunday, August 14.

Richard Marshall’s side will then tackle Dewsbury, Oldham and Workington at home, with further away days at Whitehaven and Swinton.

“It’s not a bad set of fixtures for us,” said Marshall, whose side are virtually guaranteed a semi final spot as all sides carry their league points from the Championship season - sixth-placed Fax are currently 11 points clear of Sheffield in seventh - over into the Shield.

“The toughest games look to be early on, which gives us a chance to regain some form and momentum.”
