Fax switch warm up game to Batley

Halifax’s pre-season fixture against Batley, scheduled for this Sunday at the Shay, has been switched to the Bulldogs’ Mount Pleasant ground, with a 2pm kick off.

Fax officials made the move on Tuesday morning after it became increasingly obvious that the ongoing pitch problems at the Shay, coupled with this week’s freezing weather, meant it was unlikely the game would be played.

Batley’s pitch was rated as playable on Tuesday lunchtime, although a further inspection is planned for Saturday morning.

Fax, who have so far played two warm up games, against Keighley and Dewsbury, open their Championship campaign at home to Sheffield at the end of the month.
