Marshall: Grix training, closer to playing

Halifax's key winter signing Simon Grix, who would provide options at pivot, back row and centre, is edging closer to his debut, although not necessarily against Sheffield this Sunday (3.0).

Grix was not considered earlier in the season as he finished his recovery from the long-term leg injury that ended his career with Warrington and was then effectively given leave of absence after his young daughter was taken seriously ill.

“Simon trained on Tuesday, but he maybe needs another week,” said boss Richard Marshall.

“We’re all conscious of his situation and I’ll speak to him later in the week before deciding on where we go.

“He’d certainly give us a lift, but we need to keep an eye on the bigger picture as well.”
