Storm session now open to the public

Halifax have confirmed that next Tuesday’s opposed training session with Melbourne Storm at the Shay will be open to the public.

The semi-contact showdown, which is due to last around 40 minutes and represents the Storm’s final tune up for the World Club Challenge against Leeds, had originally been scheduled to take place entirely behind closed doors at the request of the Australian champions.

But now fans wanting to see Craig Bellamy’s star-studded line up - featuring Kangaroo aces Billy Slater and Cameron Smith as well as Halifax-born stand off Gareth Widdop - will be able to watch them go head to head with Fax from around 5.30pm.

The East Stand turnstiles will be open from 4.30pm, with admission £2.50 for adults with children and concessions free.

The supporters’ bar and catering facilities will be open and the Rugby League World Cup will be on display.

But there will be no access to the stand or pitchside until after the Storm have finished a private practice session.

There are also a limited number of tickets for admission to the banqueting suite, with priority given to sponsors and season ticket holders.

Ticket details are available from the club on 01422 342792.
