Rain wrecked today’s Halifax-Huddersfield Alliance meeting at Outlane.
After an unseasonal spell of dry weather over the last fortnight, heavy rain caused the abandonment of the event at around 11.30am.
Alliance official Trevor Williams said some greens had become flooded. “It was a bit unexpected,” he said.
The first players teed off at 8am and Williams said they had been approaching the end of their rounds when the decision was made. The last starters had been due out at noon.
The event has been re-scheduled for Tuesday, May 6 and new entry forms will be sent to clubs.
The next event is at Bradley Park on Tuesday, April 1.
