David Blackburn and Annice Copley won the Sowerby Bridge Association’s Michael Telford Mixed Pairs at Hill Crest on Sunday.
They beat Dennis Hartley and Sue Martin by 15-12 in the final of an event sponsored by David Hall.
Blackburn and Copley took an early 6-0 lead and, after Hartley and Martin had scored three from the next two ends, moved further ahead to lead by 10-3.
They were still ahead by 12-5 before a four brought Hartley and Martin back into the game.
Hartley and Martin edged closer and were only two behind at 11-13 and 12-14 before Blackburn and Copley clinched victory with a final single.
Earlier, Blackburn and Copley had recovered from 7-10 to win by 15-12 in their opening game against former winners,Terry and Cathie Ness.
In their second game they were 6-9 down to Lyndon Harris and Jean Gaukroger before going on to win by 15-12.
In their semi-final against Barrie Morgan and Pat Skene they were never behind, leading by 5-0 after the first two ends and winning 15-10.
Hartley and Martin trailed by 5-8 and 8-10 in their opening game against Martin Greenwood and Bev Tinkler before recovering to win by 15-13.
They then led from the start against John Hamer and Pam Robinson, winning by 15-9.
In their semi-final against Brian Holroyd and Christine Pilling the scores were tied at seven before they ran out.
