Dave Delaney is leaving Halifax Golf Club to take the professional’s job at fellow Calderdale club Bradley Hall.
The 40-year-old, who has been at Ogden for seven years having previously been at Queensbury, will replace long-serving Peter Wood, who is retiring at the end of this month.
Delaney will be taking his 24-year-old assistant Tim Pollard with him to ensure the shop at the Holywell Green club is manned seven days a week.
Bradley Hall commercial director Declan Wadcock said the club’s first search for a pro in 40 years had been interesting and challenging and the role had changed dramatically in that time.
“All eight candidates interviewed were of an extremely high standard and each one would have been a major asset to the club moving forward,” he said.
Delaney and Pollard will have the task of helping the club develop its junior section and forge strong links with local schools.
Bradley Hall has a 600-strong membership but still has places available with no joining fee. More details from 01422 374108.
