Stocksbridge 40 Halifax 0

Lightning and a torrential downpour just before kick off set the scene for what was to be arguably one of the most memorable games for Halifax in Yorkshire Four this season.

Stocksbridge were on the board first with a try, and further scores and penalties took the score to 23-0 at half time.

The usually fast Halifax backs were slowed down by the heavy conditions underfoot. The forwards stood strong and pushed hard with some superb tackling displays from the visitors.

Halifax made five changes in the second half but Stocksbridge maintained the upper hand. The visitors continued to battle and made sure the home team worked hard for their win right up to the last whistle, Glen Warne doing enough to earn himself the Halifax man of the match award.
