Halifax Hockey Club’s men’s first team will be playing in Yorkshire Two next season, it has been confirmed.
That is a drop of two divisions at the request of the club, which is based at Exley.
Halifax finished fourth from bottom of the Premier Division in 2011/2012.
Although the side coached by Paul Graham suffered some heavy defeats, the players did win matches at the end of the season to stay out of the relegation zone.
However, Halifax requested demotion in the knowledge that players would be leaving the club.
Captain Matthew Pinder has moved to Leeds and joined a club in that area while James Oliver and Henry Shelton are among younger players going away to university.
