Halifax’s efforts finally paid off with a goal from Illingwerth to give her side the win.
The final game against Leeds proved the decider with both teams having remained unbeaten Leeds started the stronger, winning the midfield battle and despite excellent defending by Kalter and Wilson, they took the lead. Halifax tried to pull the goal back but were caught on the break to concede a second goal.
Halifax dug deep and upped their work rate, pinning Leeds back into their own half. However, this pressure could not be converted into goals and Halifax had to be content with second place on the day.
