Siddal stormed to the top of the National Conference League’s Premier Division with a 68-8 thrashing of bottom club Wigan St Judes yesterday.
They scored 46 points without reply in the second half to go to the summit on points difference from Wigan St Patricks and West Hull, who both lost.
Shaun Garrod capped a man of the match display at stand off with a hat-trick of tries.
Scores from fullback Scott Robinson and centre Nathan Jones kept St Judes remotely in the hunt up to the interval but the home side then ran riot.
Fullback Gareth Blackburn finished with 28 points from two tries and 10 goals.
Wingers Hamish Barnes and Steve Hope scored two each while second row Danny Williams (two) and hooker Sean McCormack rewarded the forwards in a 12-try return for Gareth Greenwood’s side.
It was a perfect morale booster for the Chevinedge side prior to next Saturday’s trip to Wigan St Patrick’s.
Elland also showed no mercy to struggling opponents, winning 62-0 at Stanningley in Division Two.
Karl Fairbank’s side were only 18-0 up at half time in Leeds but their starting backs then had a field day, finishing with nine of their 12 tries.
Winger Chris Dyson got three, centres Tom Harnett and Richard Crawshaw two apiece, and Oliver Fairbank and Steve Brocklehurst one each.
Second row Joe Fradgley and loose forward Jack Fairbank also touched down while the visitors’ star man Cayci Pearson kicked five goals and Phil Taylor two.
Ovenden and Oldham St Annes, who are among the pacesetters in the second division, fought out a thrilling 46-46 draw at Four Fields.
