HALIFAX chairman Michael Steele has denied the club have sacked their teenage stand off Anthony Bowman.
Rumours began to circulate late last week that the former Wigan junior had been axed by the Co-operative Championship winners.
Steele gave a straight “no” when asked if that was the case, although he refused to comment further.
Courier Sport understands that Bowman is currently the subject of a disciplinary investigation.
Bowman featured in Fax’s first two pre season matches, at Bradford and Batley, but withdrew from the team to play Hull KR in the third and final warm up fixture on the day of the game and was not included in coach Matt Calland’s 18-man squad for last Friday’s Northern Rail Cup opener at Swinton.
