Elland boss Karl Fairbank admitted he may need to be patient with his young side after their 16-12 home defeat by Oldham St Annes.
“We gave them a 12-0 lead with a chargedown and a dropped ball, but we got it back to 12-12,” said Fairbank, ahead of this weekend’s break for the Challenge Cup final.
“We had a shot at a drop goal that missed, got ourselves another attacking position, put the ball down again and they went up the other end and scored.
“It’s frustrating, because they were there for the taking and we couldn’t take them.
“We are getting there, but I would like us to kick on a bit quicker than we are doing.
“In the end, I think I probably need to be a bit more patient.”
