Halifax have extended the loan deal of winger Tommy Saxton and are negotiating to try and keep the Featherstone threequarter for an extended period.
Saxton, who had been marginalised since new boss John Bastian arrived at Post Office Road last autumn, played the first game of his second month at the Shay in Sunday’s 48-6 win over Doncaster.
“Tommy’s signed for another month,” said Fax boss Karl Harrison, who has lost Rob Worrincy to a six-month suspension for betting on Championship matches.
“The Worrincy situation has been going on for a while, so we’ve put things in place to compensate for that.
“We are talking with Featherstone about making it a longer deal; Tommy wants to stay, he’s happy here.
“He’s fitted into the group very well and he’s playing well.”
