Championship leaders Halifax have appealed for volunteers to help clear the Shay pitch.

Karl Harrison’s side are currently four points clear at the top and are due to open their Easter programme against Dewsbury at the Shay on Thursday night (7.30).

But with several inches of snow covering the playing surface, the club have asked for fans to turn out from 9am on Wednesday, bringing snow shovels and wheelbarrows if possible, to try and ensure the game goes ahead.

“Get down to the Shay and help clear the pitch,” tweeted captain Scott Murrell on Tuesday.

“I’ll be there, let’s get this game on.”
