Halifax have confirmed that hooker Ben Kaye has signed a contract extension to keep him at the club until the end of the 2016 season.

The former Featherstone Rovers number nine played a key role in Richard Marshall’s side in 2015, returning to the form that saw him play Super League rugby for Leeds and London.

Kaye said: “I’m really happy to resign for the club. It’s been a goal of mine to earn an extension because of the good feeling which is around the club at the moment.

“Looking ahead to next season as a team we want to beat what we achieved last year, we know it will be a tough task but with the calibre of players brought in there is no reason why we can’t.”

Kaye is also pleased to see the addition of former Warrington Wolves man Simon Grix after he signed for the club last month: “He’s a Super League calibre of player and sends out a real message of intent moving forward.”

Kaye becomes the fourth player to extend his current contract with Halifax ahead of the 2016 season following the announcements that Adam Tangata, Mitch Cahalane and Scott Murrell have signed long-term deals with the club.
