Halifax will be without Widnes loanee Danny Craven for Friday night’s trip to Hunslet (8.0) after the Vikings recalled the player.
Craven, who scored two tries in last weekend’s 40-22 win at Featherstone, had been expected to remain at the Shay until the end of the season.
But with Denis Betts’ side struggling for form, and apparently fit players, Craven has returned to Cheshire, at least for now.
“Widnes have got a number of injuries, so Danny has been recalled,” said Fax coach Richard Marshall.
“It’s disappointing, because he’s in form and was becoming an integral part of the team, but it’s the nature of the beast when you’re dealing with loan players.
“We had a handshake agreement on a season-long loan, but he’s a Widnes player and they’re within their rights to ask for him back.
“I think we’ll see him again and it’s not the end of the world; we’ve got enough quality in the squad to cover for his absence.”
