HALIFAX have annnounced DW Sports Fitness as their new ‘fitness partners’ for 2012, providing players with access to their gym and pool on the outskirts of the town centre.
Boss Karl Harrison has already used the gym, which is owned by the former Wigan owner Dave Whelan, as part of the club’s pre-season programme.
“Training is such a huge part of a rugby player’s daily routine and for the squad to have access to the facilities at DW should give us a massive advantage,” said Fax marketing manager Matt Turner.
“It’s not just the facilities; the staff at DW provide expert service and the players have already had a spinning session with one of the fully qualified trainers.”
DW Fitness will receive match day exposure as well as having access to the first team squad for marketing activities.
“2012 is a new era, with a new coach and in general a new set of players,” said Turner.
“We want to engage further with local companies, and although DW Fitness is a Wigan based organisation, the gym in Halifax is very community based. A lot of the players have already used the facilities and the opinions so far have been amazing.”
Mel Crossland, head of sales and marketing for DW Sports Fitness, said: “DW Sports Fitness is pleased to be an official partner with Halifax Rugby League as they embark on their new season.
“On behalf of DW, we wish the team every success during the season, and look forward to a promising future working together.”
