Halifax have signed the former Salford back rower Luke Adamson on a deal that will run until the end of this season.
Adamson, 25, played seven seasons in Super League with the Reds, making his top flight debut under current Fax boss Karl Harrison.
The former Leigh East amateur joined rugby union big guns Bath last autumn, but returned north last month and has been training with Wigan.
The player met Harrison on Friday night and signed his short-term deal at the Shay ahead of Sunday’s Championship win over Swinton.
“Luke is a Super League quality forward and it’s great to have him on board,” said Harrison.
Fax are currently without key forwards Andy Bracek and Ross Divorty after the pair were injured in the 18-18 draw at Batley 10 days ago.
